Kilmeage Paint Stripping
Paint Stripping Kilmeage
The proprietary paint stripping process we apply ensures that your fixtures are brought back to you better than new. We have stripped paint, glue, lacquer, and other coverings from items ranging in size from the very small to three meter high doors and posts. The craftsmen in the Dipstrip team can undertake repairs on damaged doors, windows, and furniture for you. After the paint has been stripped, we treat the wood, where wood is the material of the restoration project, with a natural oil layer, which causes the wood to glow with its richest colours.
It's important to be careful when selecting a paint stripper, as joints can crack and tighten and the wood can twist. Outdoor furniture especially can have a hard time with exposure to the elements and so good restoration is a must. An advantage older fixtures have is that they don't get the modern kiln drying, which can shorten the lifespan of the wood considerably, so it's usually a good idea to make the effort to restore them properly. More recent doors won't have been made from a few solid pieces but rather combined from flakes and fragments of wood, unlike older doors. The paint stripping technique is one needing a careful eye and patience, as well as knowing when to start cleaning afterwards.
Whether you're a member of the public or someone working with an organisation, we've got what it takes to restore your beloved furniture and fittings. Give us a call today, we'll let you know what we can do for you and work with you until you're happy with your wood or metal paint stripping results.
