And nobody has the experience and skill of Dipstrip at restoration and preservation! An advantage older fixtures have is that they don't get the modern kiln drying, which can shorten the lifespan of the wood considerably, so it's usually a good idea to make the effort to restore them properly. Nothing beats the craftsmanship and skill of yesteryear, so we're focused on restoartion while respecting and maintaining that level of quality. Normally, the antique wooden doors we treat are of superb quality wood. Antique doors, windows and window frames would have been seasoned for many years, outside in the sun, to prevent cracking and warping.
