Normally, the antique wooden doors we treat are of superb quality wood. Some of the doors we deal with are framed and plank wood Stuart doors, and six panel Georgian doors. Antique doors, windows and window frames would have been seasoned for many years, outside in the sun, to prevent cracking and warping. We get your doors back to you dry and safe, and usually very quickly, with an overnight or sometimes same-day turnaround in many cases. An advantage older fixtures have is that they don't get the modern kiln drying, which can shorten the lifespan of the wood considerably, so it's usually a good idea to make the effort to restore them properly.
