After the paint has been stripped, we treat the wood, where wood is the material of the restoration project, with a natural oil layer, which causes the wood to glow with its richest colours.
Normally, the antique wooden doors we treat are of superb quality wood. Warped wood after a bad paint strip is usually very difficult to repair, so you're best off not taking any chances. An advantage older fixtures have is that they don't get the modern kiln drying, which can shorten the lifespan of the wood considerably, so it's usually a good idea to make the effort to restore them properly. Outdoor furniture especially can have a hard time with exposure to the elements and so good restoration is a must. And nobody has the experience and skill of Dipstrip at restoration and preservation!
