We have stripped paint, glue, lacquer, and other coverings from items ranging in size from the very small to three meter high doors and posts. And nobody has the experience and skill of Dipstrip at restoration and preservation! We get your doors back to you dry and safe, and usually very quickly, with an overnight or sometimes same-day turnaround in many cases. An advantage older fixtures have is that they don't get the modern kiln drying, which can shorten the lifespan of the wood considerably, so it's usually a good idea to make the effort to restore them properly. More recent doors won't have been made from a few solid pieces but rather combined from flakes and fragments of wood, unlike older doors. Some of the doors we deal with are framed and plank wood Stuart doors, and six panel Georgian doors.
