Fedamore Paint Stripping
Paint Stripping Fedamore
We have stripped paint, glue, lacquer, and other coverings from items ranging in size from the very small to three meter high doors and posts. After the paint has been stripped, we treat the wood, where wood is the material of the restoration project, with a natural oil layer, which causes the wood to glow with its richest colours. The craftsmen in the Dipstrip team can undertake repairs on damaged doors, windows, and furniture for you. Whether dealing with large orders or small orders, we pay the same attention to detail that can be heard about from our long list of satisfied customers.
An advantage older fixtures have is that they don't get the modern kiln drying, which can shorten the lifespan of the wood considerably, so it's usually a good idea to make the effort to restore them properly. There's no reason to risk your irreplaceable antique furniture, doors and window frames with anyone else. The paint stripping technique is one needing a careful eye and patience, as well as knowing when to start cleaning afterwards. More recent doors won't have been made from a few solid pieces but rather combined from flakes and fragments of wood, unlike older doors. Warped wood after a bad paint strip is usually very difficult to repair, so you're best off not taking any chances.
Whether you're a member of the public or someone working with an organisation, we've got what it takes to restore your beloved furniture and fittings. Our reputation precedes us so give us a call today!
