Some of the doors we deal with are framed and plank wood Stuart doors, and six panel Georgian doors. Antique doors, windows and window frames would have been seasoned for many years, outside in the sun, to prevent cracking and warping. More recent doors won't have been made from a few solid pieces but rather combined from flakes and fragments of wood, unlike older doors. Warped wood after a bad paint strip is usually very difficult to repair, so you're best off not taking any chances. Nothing beats the craftsmanship and skill of yesteryear, so we're focused on restoartion while respecting and maintaining that level of quality.
