Normally, the antique wooden doors we treat are of superb quality wood. More recent doors won't have been made from a few solid pieces but rather combined from flakes and fragments of wood, unlike older doors. The paint stripping technique is one needing a careful eye and patience, as well as knowing when to start cleaning afterwards. Some of the doors we deal with are framed and plank wood Stuart doors, and six panel Georgian doors. Antique doors, windows and window frames would have been seasoned for many years, outside in the sun, to prevent cracking and warping.
