An advantage older fixtures have is that they don't get the modern kiln drying, which can shorten the lifespan of the wood considerably, so it's usually a good idea to make the effort to restore them properly. Antique doors, windows and window frames would have been seasoned for many years, outside in the sun, to prevent cracking and warping. The paint stripping technique is one needing a careful eye and patience, as well as knowing when to start cleaning afterwards. Normally, the antique wooden doors we treat are of superb quality wood.
