Ballytore Paint Stripping
Paint Stripping Ballytore
We have stripped paint, glue, lacquer, and other coverings from items ranging in size from the very small to three meter high doors and posts. After the paint has been stripped, we treat the wood, where wood is the material of the restoration project, with a natural oil layer, which causes the wood to glow with its richest colours. The proprietary paint stripping process we apply ensures that your fixtures are brought back to you better than new. Some of our clients down through the years have been household names, and they are well pleased with our work.
An advantage older fixtures have is that they don't get the modern kiln drying, which can shorten the lifespan of the wood considerably, so it's usually a good idea to make the effort to restore them properly. Warped wood after a bad paint strip is usually very difficult to repair, so you're best off not taking any chances. The paint stripping technique is one needing a careful eye and patience, as well as knowing when to start cleaning afterwards. It's important to be careful when selecting a paint stripper, as joints can crack and tighten and the wood can twist. Nothing beats the craftsmanship and skill of yesteryear, so we're focused on restoartion while respecting and maintaining that level of quality.
With thirty years of experience in the business, your antique furniture or other project is in safe hands. Whether you're a member of the public or someone working with an organisation, we've got what it takes to restore your beloved furniture and fittings.
