After the paint has been stripped, we treat the wood, where wood is the material of the restoration project, with a natural oil layer, which causes the wood to glow with its richest colours. An advantage older fixtures have is that they don't get the modern kiln drying, which can shorten the lifespan of the wood considerably, so it's usually a good idea to make the effort to restore them properly. We keep your doors safe while ensuring a minimum exposure to our stripping process. The paint stripping technique is one needing a careful eye and patience, as well as knowing when to start cleaning afterwards. Warped wood after a bad paint strip is usually very difficult to repair, so you're best off not taking any chances. Normally, the antique wooden doors we treat are of superb quality wood.
